Here is a step-by-step guide for installing Kofax Import Connector 2.5 on your Kofax Capture system. You can use Kofax Import Connector to import from email, fax, folder and web service.
Pre-requisites: You will need to have Kofax Capture installed. For more information on installing Kofax Capture, you can check out our Kofax Capture Installation Run Book. For compatible versions of Kofax Capture, please download the Kofax Cross Product Compatibility Matrix.
Kofax Import Connector is probably one of the most straight-forward installs of any of the Kofax Capture add-ons. These instructions are for a single-node installation, where the Message Connector and Kofax Capture Plug-In are on the same machine. This is a typical install.
Download the installation media and mount the drive. Run Setup.exe as the Administrator:
When the installation menu loads, select Install Message Connector:
The installation for the Message Connector will begin:
Select the destination folder for the installation. I recommend choosing a volume other than the C: drive:
The installation will commence and (shortly thereafter,) complete:
At the installation menu, now select Install KC Plug-In:
The installation will now commence:
When prompted for a destination folder, again select a folder on the desired volume:
The installation will commence and (shortly thereafter,) complete:
You’ve now completed the base installation!
Don’t forget to check the Kofax website for any Service Packs, Fix Packs, or Fixes for your version of Kofax Import Connector. To do this, visit kofax.com and select Services –> Products on the main navigation:
Select Kofax Import Connector from the product list and select the Downloads section:
Once you’ve installed any Service Packs, Fix Packs, or Fixes, you can verify the version for your install by launching Kofax Capture Administration, selecting Configuration in the Electronic Documents tab:
Select About in the Assistance Tasks group:
You will then see the following versions of the Kofax Import Connector components:
(Yeah, I’m not sure why the KC Plug-in shows version 2.7 either…)
