Here are step-by-step instructions on how I installed Kofax Transformation Modules 6.1 in my development environment.
Prerequisite: Install Kofax Capture. You can find step-by-step instructions on installing Kofax Capture here. For supported versions of Kofax Capture with this version of Kofax Transformation Modules, download the Kofax Cross Product Compatibility Matrix.
Download the installation ISO and mount the drive. Run AutoRun.exe as the Administrator:
When the splash screen displays, select Install Kofax Transformation Modules:
The install will check for prerequisites and install anything that’s missing:
The main installation will commence:
After accepting the EULA, a Custom Setup dialog will be displayed, allowing you to select which modules and add-ons to install:
I recommend changing the location to a volume other than the C: drive. We did the same thing in our Kofax Capture installation. At this point, I would recommend installing Validation steps 2 through 5. These instances will be useful if you decide to have multiple steps of Validation.
The Statistics Viewer and Statistics Release components are not typically used. They had their place before Kofax did a better job of integrating KTM statistics with Kofax Capture and Kofax Analytics for Capture. I would not recommend installing or using these components as you’re not going to get a great deal of support.
As for add-ons, install those that you might use in your development. We will go into more detail on these add-ons in subsequent posts.
Once you click Next and advance the prompts, the installation will commence and complete:
Now that you’re done with the base KTM install, do not forget to go to the Kofax website and look for any Service Packs, Fix Packs, or Fixes. Visit kofax.com and select Services –> Products from the navigation:
Find Kofax Transformation Modules and select the Downloads link:
From here, you can download any Service Packs, Fix Packs, or Fixes for your installation. Once you’ve completed installing these updates, you can verify the version by launching Project Builder, and selecting the Help –> About button:
The About dialog will show you the version number:
The version number is in the following format: <Major>.<Minor>.<Service Pack>.<Fix Pack>.<Fix>.<Build Number>
